Jadhav spoke candidly about how Dhoni influenced his batting and had he not had the former captain on the other side, he might have gone for his shots earlier in the innings.”I would have tried to play more shots early had Dhoni bhai not been there. That’s what he does, he tells you exactly. He reads your mind.”Plenty of times when you feel this ball can be hit for boundaries, he’ll tell you ‘I can see that but the team needs more solidity and you have to bat till the end’. Every time you think of the team, most of the times, you’ll cross the line and end up on the winning side,” Jadhav said at the post-match presentation ceremony after receiving the man-of-the-match award.Earlier this year in Australia, Jadhav and Dhoni had won India the third ODI in Melbourne by stitching a 121-run stand. Jadhav said that run chase was on his mind and he knew he just had to listen to Dhoni in order to take the match.advertisement”Recently in Australia, we pulled off a similar kind of a chase. I had that in the back of my mind. When you have Mahi bhai at the other end, you just have to listen to him. I just did that again today. I tried to learn a lot from him (MS).”MS and Cheeku are the best chasers in the game, I feel. The intensity has to be there all the time. That’s what we learn from the captain and that’s what we tried to do,” Jadhav further said.According to statistics, if Kedar Jadhav bowls a minimum of four overs, India go on to win 85.71 per cent of those matches. On Saturday, Jadhav picked just one wicket but that was an important one as he broke the dangerous partnership of Marcus Stoinis and Usman Khawaja.”My bowling is all about reading batsmen’s mind. I have two or three options with the angle. I tried to bowl stump-to-stump. Best part about my bowling is, I don’t think like I’m a bowler, there’s no extra responsibility. I enjoy my bowling.”With the win in Hyderabad, India take a 1-0 lead in the five-ODI series against Australia. India will play the second ODI at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur on Tuesday. Also Read | Virat Kohli praises Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni and bowlers after India win Hyderabad ODIAlso Read | Why Kedar Jadhav is India’s lucky charm.
