NASSCORP Retires 10, Honors Several Others

first_imgThe National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP) on Wednesday, December 14, retired 10 employees for passing the age of retirement, and honored 23 others for long service, a release has said.The release named those retired as Gloria Dennis, A. B. Kemokai, Dee Zoe Lake, Joseph Lackay, Jr., H. Beatrice Hoff-Dennis, Joseph Ross, Josiah Freeman, Augustine Paytoe, Joseph Bedell and George Chea. Those honored for long service included Dewitt von Ballmoos, Director-General, 10 years; Varnie Tamba and Omega Doe-Browne, 30 years; Wellington Sendolo, J. Waylah Yehyee, Tenneh Jardia, Felecia Kromah, Sie Baker, Kau Dolo and R. Varney Coker, 20 years.Honored for 15 years are Terrance Folly, Myrtle Johnson, Lorenzao Fleming and Elizabeth Zeon, while Charles Davies, Joseph Lackay Jr., Weber Dossen, Joseph N. Chounse, Julius Barlea Jr., Matthew Opene, T. Barnabas Govego, Samuel Kollie and Mamadee Bamba were honored for 10 years respectively.Mr. von Ballmoos said it was with distinct honor that NASSCORP retired and honored its employees, who have served the corporation with “dedication and commitment.”He said the NASSCORP Management was proud to acknowledge and pay tribute to a unique corps of individuals who “personify NASSCORP’s constant pursuit of excellence.”According to von Ballmoos, the corporation will miss the retirees, but said the corporation will consult them when the need arises, because each of them served “diligently” and needed to be retired for their long service.He referred to the retirees as the “institutional memory of NASSCORP” noting that retirement does not mean the employee cannot contribute to society, but to take rest after serving their country diligently.Also speaking, the chairman of the Board of Directors of NASSCORP, Madam Miata Beysolow, thanked the retirees and honorees for their selfless services to the corporation.On behalf of the retirees, Mrs. H. Beatrice Hoff-Dennis thanked management for the support given them during their respective tenure.The program brought together dignitaries including government officials, members of the corporation’s Board of Directors, former Directors General, distinguished invitees, management and staff.
